On January 29, 2025, as part of the Unique Russia exhibition in Moscow, the first gala event was held dedicated to the anniversary of one of the key Russian public diplomacy organizations, the Russian Association for International Cooperation (RAMS).
The Association unites more than 100 friendship societies with foreign countries and public organizations.
RAMS successfully cooperates with BRICS, SCO, CIS, EURASIA.
"The Association continues the noble traditions of the All-Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Union of Soviet Societies for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries. The activities of RAMS to strengthen the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding between peoples deserve support. I would especially like to note the work of the Association to reveal the potential of friendship societies, holding various events together with diplomatic missions of the countries of the world majority. This contributes to the promotion of an objective image of Russia, popularization of our rich cultural and historical heritage, and the search for new foreign friends.

The Russian Association for International Cooperation (RAMS) is ready to take an active part in restoring interstate cooperation with European countries. This was stated by RAMS Secretary General Vladimir Polozkov during a press conference at TASS dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the association.
“Work in Europe is not easy at the moment; thousands of people in Russia and abroad are making efforts to help restore the institutions that have now been destroyed,” he noted.
Polozkov recalled that 100 years ago, in 1925, friendship societies “became the basis for the restoration of state institutions and state relations.” “I am confident that RAMS will take active action in this direction,” he summed up.
RAMS is a public organization working on the international track, which has developed from the All-Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (VOKS), through the Union of Soviet Societies for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (SSOD), to the Russian Association of International Cooperation, created in 1992 by decree of the President of the Russian Federation. As noted in RAMS, the organization is active in forming a circle of friends of Russia abroad, developing a movement for friendship and comprehensive cooperation with the peoples of foreign countries, and promoting objective information about Russia.
